Subject: [Ham-Computers] What is *.xml?

On my XP-Home In C:\Documents and Settings\(my user id)\UserData are these
four folders: CJIXMFM9, GZ85078, IZS9MB4V, and KL57U5MF.

In some of these four folders are one or more .xlm files that have the
appearance of having something to do with a Windows update.

These questions:
1. Does anyone know of a site where I can find out what purpose an .xml file
serves?
2. Does anyone know what these cryptic folder names mean?
3. Is it safe to delete an .xml file from these locations?
