[Ham-Computers] BIG Question

The older computers in the nineties and back did have a Lithium? battery fail
after five years +/- However, the newer computers have a rechargeable battery
and it should last longer than 99 out of 100 people own the computer.

Did you replace the back-up battery?  Most of my computers will not boot if
the battery is dead.
