IBM had their own version of DOS, they refused to use what MS developed.
Eventually customer demand and slumping sales forced them to get on board and use
MS DOS.

You are correct. Every computer company did seem to have their own version of
DOS. None of which worked with any other companies computer.

I do not know what mr. Gates developed for IBM, but I do know that IBM was using
MS DOS in the early eighties, before the PC Junior.
