[Ham-Computers] CDRW problems and solutions

Seems that about once a year I move my Memorex CRW
1622 to a new computer. Each time I run into the
same problems.  I spend time searching the web for
possible solutions and find lots of folk cursing
the 1622.

Turns out that no ATPI CDRW drive will work with
anything but a plain vanilla IDE controller
driver.  I am always lucky enough to have some
sort of bus master controller along with the dual
fifo drivers in my target computers.  ATPI CDRW
drives will read but not write using a bus master
style controller.  So it takes dumping the bus
master drivers and installing the plain drivers. 
That works.

I just thought I would post this for those who
might also have had problems with ATPI CDRW
drives.  

I am also going to archive this so I can find it
next year when I move my CDRW drive once more.
