"PCMCIA's won't work with Windows 95 at all, and only with some versions of
Windows 98"
Must be a driver problem with some of those OS's, PCMCIA cards and their
predecessors have been in use for quite some time. I had a laptop, a Tandon
built in 1984 that had a PCMCIA slot on the side which I used for a 1200 Bd
modem, add-on soundcard and network adapter. My Toshiba laptop built in
1995 with Windows 3.11 installed has two ports, I upgraded to 95, then 98,
and now 98SE. I currently run 3.11, 98SE and DOS 6.22 without trouble on
the same computer, though the cardslots only work with 3.11 and 98SE. If
you need older drivers, look up "card works" and "socket server".
