[Ham-Computers] Re: SWAP: FT-8900R & 2 Laptops for Newer L...

I have not said one word following my initial self-defense post.
I have read many private and a few public posts, none solicited.

I was not seeking "sympathy". I am a conversational person and
rather than post the typical terse "swap only no cash" or
"cash only, no trades" I tend to explain why. I guess some
people assume everyone is dishonest so when anyone offers
extra information they read-in something bad. Very sad.

On the facts, my xyl only wishes I was successfully buying
and selling for profit! The last three HF rigs I bought
were misrepresented by their Ham sellers and I have had to
resell them as-is at losses between $100. & $200. each.

I always describe everything I post to the fine detail,
send multiple pictures, and insist that the buyer know
everything I know prior to agreeing to sell.

I believe that there is no Ham anywhere with a legitimate
beef against me for any transaction ever. It has cost me
lots of money and time to be sure of that but as a matter
of integrity it is not acceptable do have done otherwise.

Like many Hams I see something interesting and may buy it
or swap for it only to later determine that it is not what
I really want or need and then resell, rarely even breaking
even but having lots of fun learning about different rigs
and accessories in the process!

Our budget does not allow me to buy much of anything new,
nor to get anything without selling stuff, so the churning
is as much need-driven as it is interesting. Given my
recent experience with integrity-challenged Ham sellers I
have determined not to buy anything substantial I cannot
thoroughly inspect in advance as we cannot bear the losses.

Anyhow, I need to communicate with those who have read my
swap post for what it was and have offered laptops of varying
configurations.

I don't expect an apology and wish my post had been left alone
without the unnecessary commentary.

Enough said about this unfortunate kerfuffle!
