what do you mean by secure?

I'd definitely have to disagree here, if you mean secure as in security.
If you have 98, anyone can boot up your computer and access your files.
The `password' you may or may not use is laughable and can be bypassed
by hitting ESC. You can also delete a file and delete the password,
prompting you for a new one.

By all means, use what works for you (plus I know you use additional
peripherals), but security isn't 98's strong point.

Just so we can all rest easy, anyone with a few computer tools can also
get into any other version of Windows, unless security precautions are
taken (BIOS passwording, boot ONLY from hd, etc). Even then, they can
still get in if they're determined.

I have a great time-saver at work: a live linux CD. It will boot up and
access the hard drive, even if Windows is messed up. I also have
password changers and Windows emergency boot disks that will do the same
thing. Now when coworkers Bob and Sue Einstein forget their passwords
and lock themselves out of their own computer, I can help them.

I could also use these tools to access other computers, without
permission. Just because we are decent doesn't mean others are too.

But that's enough sunshine for one day :)
