Maybe this will put an end to all of the discussion about if it is legal to sell the software.
Please note that this message, in it's entirety, is direct from Microsoft support.

Hello Eugene,
Thank you for contacting Microsoft Online Customer Service.
I apologize for any delay in our response to your issue. Due to an increase in requests, our response time may be longer than usual. We appreciate your patience.
I apologize for misunderstanding your issue in the previous interaction. As a Customer Service Representative, I have researched the Microsoft Knowledge Base and found the following information which you may find useful.
The initial user of the Software may make a one-time permanent transfer of this EULA and Software to another end user, provided the initial user retains no copies of the Software. This transfer must include all of the Software (including all component parts, the media and printed materials, any upgrades, this EULA, and, if applicable, the Certificate of Authenticity). The transfer may not be an indirect transfer, such as a consignment. Prior to the transfer, the end user receiving the Software must agree to all the EULA terms.
Eugene, I hope you find the above information helpful. If you have further questions, please get back to us. We will be glad assisting you.
Thank you for using Microsoft products and services.

I don't know what this message is all about. I did not ask about Word 2000!
I want to sell three WIN XP Home edition CDs that I purchased and are now surplus to my needs. From what I understand from the EULA, this is OK as long as I remove the software from my computers and include all docs, original CD, etc. when it is given to the buyer.
Is this correct?
I have received negative feedback from potential buyers because of their lack of understanding of the EULA, so it would be appreciated if you could clear up this matter for me. (Then I can just forward your response to them).
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

I have been unable to find a link to submit my question:
I want to sell my copies of WIN XP home edition that I have removed from
my computers.
How does the new owner(s) then activate the software?
If this e-mail address is not the correct one to answer this question,
could you please direct me to the correct Microsoft e-mail address to
send the request to?
Thank you,
Eugene A Rastberger
