Hello All!
I recently purchased a receiver/transmitter(RX/TX DFM 5v - 433MHz through
abacom) pair and can't seem to get them to work as intended. I've tried
everything and thought that maybe someone might know what the problem might
be.
The main objective is to send one or two ascii characters from the serial
port of a PC to the recieving PIC micro. I made a voice recognition program
to change spoken commands into two character ascii which will be converted
by the pic into hex. I connected the pair between two PC's to make sure that
everything was working as intended. Using
hyperteminal and no control lines, i got it somewhat working, ie. when i
hold the key down on the keyboard the proper characters are received. The
problem is i always receive a couple garbage characters at the start of the
stream received (eg. sending a capital Y....<~YYYYYYY). Also when i press
and release individual keys i only get the same garbage character. I have
tried
every setting possible using the proper baud rates and settings but it seems
to do the same thing regardless.
I also modified code using MSComm's VB example, to send a two character
string but i only recieve the same garbage characters. The only way that i
can
get it to work is if i hold the key down continuously and stream the
characters. The problem is i can't stream characters when using MSComm in my
program.
If you have any ideas or suggestions it would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Jason
