[Ham-Computers] Windows Explorer Strange Behavior

OS is W2K, SP4, most recent of the millions of MicroSkunk security breach 
updates.  For years, when I've started Windows Explorer, the default opening 
display has Desktop at the top, followed by My Documents (always opened for some 
reason), then My Computer (all drives are under this and it normally opens 
closed), then My Network Places, etc. etc to the bottom of the list (in my case, a 
folder on the Desktop called "Applications").  Recently (last three or four 
days maybe), I've noticed that sometimes when I start Explorer,  under Desktop 
is My Computer on down to the normal bottom of the list (Applications) 
followed by My Documents on down to the bottom again.  Usually, when it exhibits this 
strange behavior, closing it and reopening it squares it away but sometimes, 
it only straightens out (as a few minutes ago) after I've close most of the 
open applications.  

Anyone else noticing this?  Any clue as to cause?
