I can only guess that this is a byproduct of using
Microsoft products.  They refuse to honor generally
accepted standards and add all manner of junk code
to what they generate.

I hope someone on the list has an answer otherwise
I will ask a friend when he returns from a trip.

I know there is at least one site on the Net which
will test for various browsers and recommend code
changes for cross-platform compatibility.  Will look
for that.
