Robert,
What you're looking for is a Windows function key macro editor. Try
searching on this term in Google (or your favorite search engine) to see
what's available. I haven't had a need for one yet as the apps that
need them usually have the internal ability to create/edit F-key macros.
However, I am using a GREAT utility for re-mapping keys on the keyboard.
It's called "Sharpkeys" and can be found here:
http://www.randyrants.com/sharpkeys/
It allows you to remap any key on the keyboard to any other key. For
example, some keyboards swap the "Windows" key with the "ALT" key -
Sharpkeys allows you to swap them back. The remapping ability is
actually built into Windows NT kernel op systems (NT/2K/XP/2003) -
Sharpkeys just makes the appropriate registry changes required for the
remap. Best of all, it's freeware (actually, donationware - donate if
you find it useful). Hmmmm, looks like the author posted a link to
another app he found called "AutoHotKeys". This app might be exactly
what you're looking for. "AutoHotKey" can be found here:
http://www.autohotkey.com/
AutoHotKey is released under GPL, so it's free...can't beat that!
