That makes sense.

I know that in most of the larger Linux
distributions, if you select servers, they will
automatically be running when you boot the system.

The default is to turn everything on.  You have to
go in and turn off what you dont want.

I guess XP does something similar.  Wonder where
the switches are.  I have never taken a big
interest in XP.  I doubt I would ever have a need
to install it on another computer.
