John,
No I have not. I heard about doing that way way back in the last century though.
(patented Fischer smirk) This is a very old document John, fifty-eight years to
be precise. I am not sure applying heat would be wise.
I encountered a like situation five years ago when I accidentally discovered a
document beneath an original schematic from 1945. I asked my printer, who did my
commercial work for twenty years, to laminate them. He said it would be a
foolish risk, as due to their age the heat would probably cause them to dry out
even more and become so brittle they would simply fall apart.
Your suggestion is fine for newer papers John, but might be hazardous to the
health of old ones.
