Definitely not an easy task, especially if there is a lot of detail to save!
It can be done, but it takes a lot of time and patience. I spent hours
removing a crease from a 1930's family photo of my grandparents, my mom, and
her sisters. Luckily it was black and white - I would have given up or not
even tried if it was color!

For areas on the scan that are less detailed, the best to use that I know if
is a "clone" tool, but I don't know if Corel Draw 5 has a clone tool
(Photoshop and Photoshop Elements do). You can also try using a "smudge"
tool to blend in the colors around the creased areas to reduce the
appearance of the crease. If there's a lot of detail to save, then it might
come down to a pixel by pixel repair. If anyone knows a better or easier
way, please enlighten us!

Brandon's 14 now??? Wow. It's good to hear that he still like to spend
time with gramps. Tell him I said "hi".

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Eliminating Fold Marks On Scanned Document

Hello All,

I have a 6X9 color brochure cover that has text and a beautiful photo of a
mountain range for a background. Somebody folded it in half and this left a
visible crease. It is obvious when scanned.

I have photo editing software, such as Corel Draw 5 and IrfanView V3.95 Is
there any way to hide this crease so as to not ruin the beautiful photo with
this
rather obvious flaw?

No, I can not 'see' it, but my fourteen year old grandson who spotted it
can! He will be doing the editing, that is, if one of you have some ideas
for him to
try. Thank you so very much.
