[Ham-Computers] Scanning Text And Images Mixed

Hello All, 	

	I got a surprise last evening, what I was told was just text, is not! It has
some images mixed in, such as a cover sheet would. I showed it to a friend and
he enlightened me. So, here we go one more once.	
	
What is the best resolution and mode to scan mixed text and graphics with that
is to be saved to a CD, then transfered to a DVD?	
	
Yes it is possible that the viewer may want to print out the page.	
	
Because of constraints here, I can not use Adobe .pdf format. Each page will
remain as a stand alone within a folder dedicated to its particular theme.
