On my Win98SE system, these are Wordpad's default "page setup" settings:

Margins - 1.25" left and right, and, 1" top and bottom. Most word
processors use the full "letter size" page width of 8.5", so the 1.25"
margins would effectively leave a 6" line width.

Paragraph indentation - 0" (not set). This can be changed in the "Format"
menu under "Paragraph".

Justification - Left justified. Again, this can be changed to "left",
"right", or "center" in the "Format" "Paragraph" options. It's called
"alignment" rather than justification.

Font - the default font is "Times New Roman", which is a proportional font.
You'll need to switch to either "Courier New" or "Lucidia Console" for
monospaced type.

Font size - default is 10 points. With "Courier New" or "Lucidia Console",
a font size of 12 points should get you about 10 chars per inch (CPI) when
printed. Unfortunately, it doesn't show on-screen at 10 CPI, but it prints
close to 10 CPI. Ahhh, when WYSIWYG really isn't WYSIWYG.

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Formatting Word pad Document

Hello All,

FYI: I am totally blind. Hence the following questions.

Using Word Pad I am curious as to what the default settings are for:

1. paragraph indention

2. left margin

3. right margin

4. justification

Here is what I want, how do I set it? I realize this is probably displayed
on
the ruler, but I am having problems 'reading' the markings there.

I want a sixty column line, left margin of ten, right margin of ten.
paragraph
indention of five.

The font is ten characters per inch.

The top and bottom margins should be one inch.

i think this should yield a maximum of fifty-four lines, as sixty is the
vertical.

When I 'look' at the current menu settings for a paragraph, it is all set to
zero and left justified.

Thank you.
