[Ham-Computers] Help with modem

Brian,

There are 3 types of expansion slots. ISA is the original slots and PCI are 
different and are still in computers today. ISA have been eliminated.

If modem is ISA then 98 will usually pick it up unless there are no 
available interupts. PCI are a diifferent story. You will need the modem 
drivers for PCI which includes a PCI Enumerator which will allow PC to 
recognize the modem in the PCI slot. Once the PCI steering holder is 
installed then the PC should find the modem.
