Been there and done that sans the SP2 update which I have ordered from 
Microsoft as a CD.

Do you perhaps have a link for that specific reading as I need to get 
spell checking to work for a dyslexic parent. We installed the patch on 
an 'old' laptop and it did work but now need to patch a new laptop.

Especially since I have personally completely removed Office 97 and 
reinstalled it to see if that was the cause.
