[Ham-Computers] Question about email and DSL

OE will handle DSL with no problem. It just uses your "default"
internet connection, the one that is accessed by right-click/properties
on the IE icon.
The reason people might be switching email (especially to hotmail/yahoo,
etc.) is that with an "always on" internet connection, your IP address
never (well, rarely) changes. Since your IP address is embedded in the
header of your email, any hacker who "steals" it off someplace like
yahoogroups, etc., then has you as a "target for an attack. If you use
a remailer (like ARRL.net) or a webmail program (like hotmail) then
THEIR IP address is broadcast, not YOURS.

Subject: [Ham-Computers] Question about email and DSL
I'm leaning toward getting DSL here after seeing a great price offer,
BUT can Outlook Express still be used as my email? A lot of people that
have DSL that I have seen have switched to Yahoo mail or something
similar.
Can someone help me understand this better.
Thanks,
Brian
