Just type a drive letter and see if you access the CD rom, such as from the C:\
prompt: D: 'enter' If you have a CD in the drive, type 'dir/b' and 'enter' You
will either get a vertical list of the CD contents or an error telling you that
the drive is not accessible. If the latter, press 'A' to abort. Type: 'C:' and
'enter' You are back on the C:\ drive. Try again.

Now one thing to keep in mind Brian, is whether the computer has load the
drivers for the CD. Which can be ascertained by reading the 'autoexec.bat' and
'config.sys' files.

Hi gang I have computer in my hands that does not have Windows and I'm
trying to install Xtree Gold via the cd-rom and can't figure out which drive
is the cd-rom.

My days of messing with DOS are rusty.

I downloaded Xtree Gold and put it on CD and want to load it on the older
computer to see what it has on there.

Can anybody help, I'm sort of lost.

73,
Brian
