[Ham-Computers] XP PRO AND XP HOME

The home version has some of the networking features stripped out of it. If
you run a home LAN, it's not worth the hassle of working around all the
limitations to get an XP Home machine on a network. Also especially bad for
a student taking a computer off to college - the dorms usually have internet
hookups but XP Home won't be able to connect to it.
Then again, if you only have one computer and/or no home LAN, save the $100
and use it and you'll never know the difference.
