[Ham-Computers] Re New Computers And Lack Of Ports

I just built a computer a few months ago - my motherboard has 5 PCI slots,
and all are free, as I have USB, Network card, and modem all "built in". I
did use one for a good sound card. The motherboard has onboard sound, but I
wanted better DSP for digital modes (and surround sound games).

It is my understanding that the new computers may have one, sometimes two,
slots. How do we get around this, or do we?

Hi Duane:
Windows XP works just fine with serial and parallel ports.
If your new PC does not include serial and parallel ports, it is easy to
install an I/O card that includes serial and parallel ports, as long as you
have an empty card slot available.
