[Ham-Computers] Samsung LCD monitor question

Gentlemen,

I need to remove the back cover (after removing the stand) of a Samsung 170S LCD
monitor. Seems the unit was subjected to some smoke (but not a lot and no water or
heat problems) in a house fire. The outside has cleaned up nicely but I would like to
brush things off inside; smoke residue + humidity over time just may cause some future
problems. There is a single screw at the bottom, but that alone does not release the
back cover. There is a small (open rectangular hole on the back cover that has what
looks like a "lock" molded into the plastic. I am guessing that this is a release of
some kind but am a bit hesitant to just go poking with a screwdriver without a little
more info. You can see some metal looking through this hole but it is not obvious
what it is.

An ideas/experience, please? There's got to be a way into the thing.

TIA & 73,

Tom - WA2BPE
