I have already been through the cycle of learning two distros that were
equally promising and then went bankrupt. Mandrake has beem in
financial trouble for a while.

I am also concerned about the politics of the legal threats to Linux and
GPL in the EU upsetting Mandrake's already tenuous financial health.

It is my observation that SuSE 9 Pro has matched all that the current
version of Mandrake offers, is equally stable operationally, plus they
lack the financial instability.

That said I know a bunch of guys who love Mandrake and the notebook
company from which I acquired mine www.powernotebooks.com has recently
announced that they are providing Mandrake with their "linux notebooks".

IMHO, YMMV ... 73, doc kd4e
