Hey Computer Wizards,

I have a problem and I need your assistance post haste.

This system is my 1997 Compaq Prosario 4814 using an Intell 233 MHZ Pentium. It
is running under Windows 95B. It has the original factory version of MSIE 3.0 on
it. I never upgrade, unless I have no choice, because I am blind and use a
special screen reading program. When it works, I leave it be.

Something appears to have corrupted a file in the MSIE, I am getting an invalid
page fault in the wininet.dll area with register notations. I have replaced the
wininet.dll file with a good copy, no change.

I believe this was caused by the Mcafee change in their scan engine stuck in
with routine virus update files! it caused Mcafee to no longer un under Windows
95, any version. Will happen to Windows 98 systems in January 2005, so watch
out!

Thsi change will cause your computer to fail on boot up, you will not be able to
get in with safe mode either. DOS is the only fix, short of reformatting the HD.

If any of you have a copy of MSIE version 3.0 around on a 3.5 floppy, I would
like to purchase it. I can NOT download it, so please do not send me web sites
to go to.

Thanks.
