[Ham-Computers] Computer reboots itself (insubordinant sucker)

Jeff,

I checked those sites but the nearest I found to any memory testers only do
performance tests and if an error were to occur, wouldn't tell where it
occurred.

Another list member sent me a test utility that runs from floppy, and thus at
least takes the installed OS out of the picture. It would probably do
exactly what I need and loads fine and runs fine on our other two machines which are
a 2 GHz and an 850 MHz PIII. But on the 3 GHz P4, as it loads it reports
that it can't completely ID the installed memory. It runs and results include
numerous failed tests but when I look, it reports it can't ID which stick they
occur in. I did note that most of the failed tests were with cache on. It is
apparently from Microsoft as I had to agree to their typical EULA but when I
went and looked, I couldn't find anything like it on their site.

So that's where it sits at present.
