I have been exclusively LINUX since 1997 and I never had to look for any
"drivers" for any hardware, it all comes with Slackware. They are called
"modules" and they can be added or removed from the running LINUX kernel
at any time. (unless compiled in, then they can only be removed at boot
if they are not needed, but they can be added back later if needed)
Were you looking for drivers for a "win-moodem? or a "Win-printer"?
I wouldn't touch those.
I bought a brand new Mommy board in 2002 and the kernel didn't have
a driver for the NEW VIA chip set, I used the PIO mode of hard drive
access for months, until the next kernel revision came out.
