the best one you can afford, with lots of RAM.
My philosophy is that I buy every two or three years, so I go for a
really nice processor - just under top of the line. Always AMD too - in
every computer I ever built. They're priced way better and are
perfectly compatible.
Currently I'm running an AMD XP2000+ w/512m RAM. I'm getting something
new for xmas because it's 2 years old (but apparently still current).
If you can find one, computer shows are a great place for a bargain.
You can get full boxes (WITHOUT operating systems) for dirt cheap.

Don't see a problem there.
I haven't tried them, but watch out for the Durons - they're the Celeron
equivalents. The current ones are called Semp(something?).
Good luck.
