It is not set up backwards Robert. Quite a few lists are this way, in fact. the
reason is so that information gets shared, that is what these lists are for,
afterall.
Many times those who respond send it to the person who asked the question, the
list is deprived of the answer. This is fine if it is a personal issue, such as
a purchase transaction etc.
When a list is set to reply to list, as opposed to reply to sender only, you
must type the e-mail address of the person to respond to them privately. Using
the 'reply' function goes to the list and using the 'reply to all' posts it to
the list twice.
It is not so bad once you get accustomed to it. After a while many prefer if
that way, as much more valuable information gets passed to subscribers.

Sorry 'bout that. All of the other QTH.net lists (and most of the
non-QTH.net lists for that matter) that I am on have Reply-To set to the message
originator, not to the list. I hadn't noticed that this one was set up
backwards.
