Boy am I having fun this morning. I had a "virus" problem last night, maybe=
still do. The followng is what I wrote to one of the usenet groups. So far=
, nobody has given me an answer......"My virus scanner is stopping mid scan=
. It appears it is stopping at a file in the following folder ...C:\Documen=
ts and Settings\RWC\Local Settings\Temp\Temporary Internet Files . I attemp=
ted to delete my all these Temporary Internet Files, but I get the followin=
g error message: "Cannot Delete TOD876~1.HTM . Make sure you specify the co=
rrect path and file name." A search for a file by that name produces no res=
ult. In addition to the above, when the virus scan halts, a new file is pla=
ced on my desktop. It is MXUIShell.mxe .This started when my virus program =
indicated that an email with a virus had arrived and I instructed the virus=
program to "repair" the problem. Because I wasn't able to run the virus sc=
an from the program in my computer, I ran the full internet scan offered by=
Trend Anti-Virus, and it came out clean. I also attempted to run System Re=
store to a time earlier today. That did not fix the problem".....Then, when=
I got up this morning and tried to check the Newsgroup for any answer, I c=
ouldn't download any email or headers. And the Internet was reeeeeeeaaaaaaa=
aaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllyyyyy=
yyyyyyyyyyyyyyy slow. I called Verizon and they suggested I unplug and then=
replug my DSL modem. That took care of the slow internet and enabled me to=
download my email and user groups. But I still don't know if I have a viru=
s. Aren't computers fun?=20

google turned up several hits indicating it is a virus. There was also a
hit indicating a remote control for rc users may leave the file with
hidden properties on your desktop.

If the latter case, resetting the file properties will allow deletion.
