IIRC, the "File Types" selection in Win9x can be found under the "View" -->
"Preferences" menu in any standard Windows explorer window (e.g. "My
Computer").

Easiest way to "change" the association is to delete the current association
and then double-click the file you want opened. Windows will then ask you
what program to use to open it. Select the appropriate app (Acrobat Reader,
in this case), and check the "Always use this program..." checkbox. This
will create a new association for the filetype in question.

It's always better to have the application do the associations (there are
custom parameters that are often added), but the procedure above is
quick/easier and usually works fine.

Tom,

Try the menu within MSIE, go over to 'programs'. There is no 'tools' as Mike
states. Down arrow and you will find what you are after.

Tom,

You need to change the file association. Within Windows Explorer you can do
that from the TOOLS menu. I don't have anything with Win95 anymore, but in
Win2K, you go to TOOLS, then FOLDER OPTIONS, then FILE TYPES. It should be
similar in Win95. Change the association for PDF files to Adobe Acrobat
Reader or whatever application you use.
