[Ham-Computers] Shareware or other programs to run TNC

Hi Fellow ham/computer people;

I just got a MFJ -  1278B, and I was looking for some suggestions for 
software, shareware or otherwise that you people could recommend.

I will be using this rig connected to an Icom IC-718 that will be used 
for emergency radio communication
during time like hurricanes, flood, etc.

I am new to this so any help you can give would be most appreciated.
