[Ham-Computers] ATI Rage Pro Screen Difficulty

Hi All,

This Compaq uses an ATI Rage Pro video display. Somehow it has been set for a
display driver for a flat panel monitor, which I do not have. The resolution
still shows to be 800x600 with 256 colors, and that is correct for my needs.
However, I think when the DirectX drivers were installed that somehow the
display adapter I am supposed to be using was changed to this one for the flat
panel monitor.

This is a Pentium2 machine running under Windows 98a.

How do I change it back to either the default display driver or to one that is
suitable for the ATI Rage Pro using 800x600 with 256 colors.

This system uses a software based program that 'reads' the screen, because I am
totally blind. JFW 3.7 with external DECTALK Express on serial COM#1, should you
need to know.

I HATE it when these programs change the display driver because it thinks you
need to optimize the system! Let us be the judge of that -

Thanks for your guidance. Remember, I am NOT using a mouse to navigate. I move
by the tab key, arrow keys, click=Enter and so forth.
