Whoops, looks like I jumped the gun in the "p.s." line of my last message.  Please forgive me if I've caused any confusion.  Below is a correction and some addtional common formats.

HFS - Hierarchical File System - used by Mac OS
HPFS - High Performance File System - used by IBM's OS/2
NTFS - "NT" File System - used by Windows NT/2000/XP
FAT12 - Original MS-DOS file format (12-bit File Allocation Table)
FAT16 - 16-bit version of FAT used in later versions of MS-DOS and Win95/NT4
FAT32 - 32-bit version of FAT used in Win95 OSR2, Win98/Me/2K/XP
