Hello all
Well, after all the discussion of this product I decided to give it a try.
I am very cautios (sp?) about what software I buy as funds are limited here
and so much of it is not that good (and expensive).

But, I decided to "bite the bullet" and try it out. I got my copy at
Staples for the same price that they wanted from the Ontrack website. I
decided that if I was in it for the long haul I wanted the manual etc.

I must say. After using it for 2 1/2 days I believe the product is every
bit as good as Paul and others on this list said. The first time I ran the
registry cleaner I must have had about 200-300 lines of "junk" invalid
entries in the registry that were safe to remove. Things that were entirely
missed by "RegCleaner" and other freeware registry programs. I've run the
complete diagnostics twice a day for the last 2 1/2 days. The first couple
days it found and corrected various things. this morning when I ran it, it
didn't find anything and the computer seems to be running faster and
smoother than I can recall The first time I defragged the hard drive with
the program it seemed to take forever, even theough I defrag regularly. I
do believe that this is one software package that is going to be worth it's
weight in gold to me.

Another note. The virus scanner included in this package is the fastest
scanner I've ever run on this machine. It scanned ALL 15 thousand plus
files in under 6 minutes (that includes archived files). AVG and Norton
were both much slower.

Only one little glitch. Norton's Live update left a couple files in it's
folder in the program directory. IF I dump that folder I get errors on
boot-up saying that the registry is looking for a couple files in that
directory. NOTHING, not even Ontracks "Fix-It" has been able to clean that
(those) entries out of the registry. Guess I'm stuck leaving those files on
the 'pooter.
