The easiest way would be to use a PNP modem.
That way, you could set up the regular comm ports for the mouse and camera
first and then install the PNP modem.
The PNP modem will pick any available port and set itself up automatically!
If your friend wants a modem I have one that would work in his machine and
will send it to him for the cost of shipping.
