[Ham-Computers] Re Cleansing Files

Hi All, 	
	
I am running Mcafee Virus Scan 5.15 with the most current .dat files. I ran a
check of all files, about 135,000 of them, and it came up saying no viruses were
found. Something told me this was not the truth. I looked at the options and
noticed I could send an infected file to the 'infected' folder, which I had just
done. I also noticed I could have the infected file deleted automatically or
have the software cleanse the infected file. I decided to cleanse.	
	
I started it running at 6:15 PM EDT and it is now 9:40 PM EDT and it is still
going. Did I do something wrong or is it checking every single file in a special
way, or is it actually cleansing every file whether they need it or not?
Remember, it said no viruses were found prior to me doing this operation. I
thought I was being doubly sure the system was clean. Maybe this amount of
elapsed time is normal. I do not know, as I have never run the cleanse thing
before. 	
	
Any thoughts?
