I'm pretty sure (although not being a Mac user) that
you should be able to run a "Serial Mouse" in COM1.
You'll just need to be sure that WinDohs locates it
at that port. (personally I prefer a 'trackball')

My Compaq has seperate mini-DINs for mouse/kybd on back,
and the docking station is set up the same way.

Have you thought about trying one of those kybds with
either the 'fingerpoint mouse' built into it ? Or maybe
the ones with the 'touch pad' along the front edge ?
Not sure if they use seperate wire pathways/connectors
for the signals, or if they don't you may need to find
the drivers for using that kybd/touchpad with your OS.
(later of course requires the purchase of new hardware)

Just a little static from a distant brainstorm :)

Hope you find something that works -n- 73,
