[Ham-Computers] Recording Vinyl To CD Format

Duane,
I guess I was suggesting away to make as many adjustments as possible
with out having to view/hear the PC Screen. I presume your coming out
of the DAT line out port which probably doesn't allow for level setting
from the DAT controls so the Sound Card software does the job.
When I recorded from my turntable thru a fixed preamp to the Hard disc I
created .wav files which did not seem to have any computer generated
noise. It was the noise from well loved (played) vinyl that I was
eliminating. Fortunately, I had recorded many LPs to Reel Tape and so
they were fairly pristine. I have been contemplating buying Roxio
Platinum and this discussion may be the incentive to do it.
Weather is finally turning nice so will be spending more time outdoors
on the boat than in the "recording Studio" but will still follow this
thread with interest.

Cheers,
