[Ham-Computers] Which Firewall?

Being somewhat of a "Power User" I felt I had to comment on the
current "Debate" on firewalls.

It is truly amazing how many people out there don't know the differance
between Zone Alarm & Zone Alarm Pro.

Zone Alarm is very stable. Zone Alarm Pro is UNstable.

Those of you who THINK it caused their system to crashed, were most
likely running Windows ME and/or most any Norton program.

I have Zone Alarm on my two laptops, one with 98SE, & the other with
Windows XP Pro. I also have Zone Alarm on my desxtop, currently running
Windows XP Home, and on 98SE prior to that.

EVERY time I've had one of my pc's running Zone Alarm & Norton at the same
time, I eventualy experienced a system crash. After about 3 months of taking
notes & carefully experimenting, I found that my pc's did NOT crash when I
un-installed & deleted Norton.

Those of you who run Norton, (Clean sweep, Utilities, etc) have fell
for a marketing scheme even slicker then the one that Microsoft has.

I also maintain my computers on a regular basis.

To test the stability of Zone Alarm, I gave a freind of mine, who
works for MSN, permission to attempt to not only run a port scan,
but to try & hack my pc. He couldn't do it.

It is sad that a FREE firewall can outperform firewalls that I've
PAID for in the past.

So, with all due respect, please get to know a program before you post
negative comments on it. This will only serve to confuse people who are
trying to learn more about computers.
