I have used/installed/etc many firewalls and I recently bought a SnapGear
Lite. This is a real
Linux based IPtables firewall. They nice thing is A, its cheap, far cheaper
than Sonic and it
has a very easy to use web interface that precludes one from having to learn
Linux/IPTables
netfilter etc. but those of us who want to hack it still can.

Based on My experience, stay away from Zone Alarm. While functional, it
destroys your system if you try to uninstall it. This has happened to
us with two different versions. The last, ZA PRO trial version left so
much trash behind that the registry was corrupted and DLLs were missing
or corrupted (maybe replaced by ZA junk). We had to reformat the C
drive! Judging from ZDNet user reviews and ZAs own marginal suppert
site this is not Uncommon. I'm still looking for a solid firewall,
trying black icenow, but have found no good solution yet.
Cheers,
