   The Slackware type of LINUX comes with a demo - rescue CD that boots up
and operates from your CD-ROM drive, but you would have to be skilled to
use it to rescue a M$ operating system.  (called the LIVE disk)
Unlike DOS floppies, LINUX correctly works with any file system and with
long files names.  I regret this is not more help, unless you have a chum
that is into LINUX.
