Hi Brian et al-
Chances are, you will receive a new cable with the bigger HD,
depending on what drive you want to set up as primary, and secondary, one of
the 40 pin cable ends will go to your existing HD while the other to the
second HD connecting its 40 pin cable.
Your existing HD is most likely set up as primary, you would have to set the
jumper on the bigger (second HD) as Slave.
You would then have to enter your systems setup program,
once you reboot, and setup your second HD there, some BIOS setup programs
have and will search and find the drive for you. Once it is setup up, save
your changes, and reboot.
Since I do not know what motherboard or Bios i.e. Awards;
AMI, etc. I would assume you will have to hit the "DEL" key when your system
boots, just after the memory count, and check. If you have Windows 95/98,
and you do not see the
black and white screen at boot, just hit the "ESC" key and you will see all
the programs being loaded.
Hope that helps.
Jim
