Other suggestions. In winME turn on system monitor and keep a watch on
Kernel Processor usage, unused physical memory, file system bytes read, file
system bytes written and see if you see activities that lock machine at
100%.
You could also go to the setup for sounds and have a sound for program open
and for program close. If an application opens and you are not seeing it you
will at least hear the audio prompt informing you of the change.
You can also run msconfig at the RUN command line of the START menu if you
have win98 or winme .Therre is a tab there labelled STARTUP optons. This is
different that the STARTUP folder. You can then select any apps that you do
not want to have running.
