Bingo.  It looks like the Pomona 1432 (banana plug to pin plug adapter) is the way to go.

I'm looking for a pair of simple red/black test leads to use with an old 1940's-50's VOM
which has the small + & -  sockets.  Looks like 1/16" or 2 mm ??

If anyone has a spare they can sell.  Please QSL.
