[Hallicrafters] WTB: SX-42 Part

 Richard, you're right that it's broken at the terminal. The problem is that I can't even see where the lead broke. I examined it with a magnifying glass and couldn't see the other end of the broken wire. It's as if it vaporized.

open at a terminal and re-soldering it will fix it. I have seen a 
burned coil only once, on an RCA AR-88 where the thing got hot 
enough to melt the polystyrene former. had to replace that and 
was lucky enough to be able to find one. I also had an open 
broadcast band coil on an SP-600 which I was able to resolder.
