Peter,
You should be able to find those knobs without too much trouble. There was nothing different about them than other Hallicrafters receiver models of that era had. There were two slightly different versions of the smaller knobs that I am aware`of and of course the two tuning knobs were larger but the same style. The smaller knobs on some early Hallicrafters receivers had small clear pointers with a red center line at the base of each knob. Other Hallicrafters receivers of that era were sometimes equipped with that same style knobs but with white dots and no pointer.

Subject: [Hallicrafters] SX-18 parts?

How difficult would it be to find SX-18 knobs?
The set I'm restoring is missing a couple of the original knobs.
The entire rejector control is missing replace with a nut and bolt and the headphone socket as well.
I haven't worked out what circuit mods have been done yet, the rejector controls apparently didn't work anyway.
I will put a knob back where there should be one, I've also got to source the decal set as the radio needs repainting, it looks like it's been painted with thick enamel with a toothbrush.
