[Hallicrafters] my 600A hickok died

Walt –

I’ve seen schematics for a replacement of the 83 tube that do not require a
new transformer (or perhaps I misunderstood your post) ?

If you search on  “Hickok 83 solid state replacement”  you’ll see a few
schematics.

I think I have one or two at home and I’ll check tonight.

Alternately,  has this ever been addressed in ER magazine?

Your quandary is near to my heart as I’ve looked at solid stating my 600A
every now and again.
