I have some EIRC (is that correct?) heat dissipating shields
that push down over the standard bayonet socket skirts. That is
what I was thinking of. The sides are slotted with the holes for
the dimples on the socket toward the bottom. The springiness of
the shield holds them on. I don't know what could be different on
the socket skirts (I don't know the correct name for this part)
for the push-on type shield. OTOH, despite my ancient age (I
think there is a bourbon by that name) I don't remember ever
seeing any sort of special sockets. Doesn't mean there aren't
such things. I am continually amazed by the stuff that's been
around forever that I never heard of. Maybe a couple of pix would
help.
